Sprouting Purple Broccoli Stir-Fry

This is a bit of a late comer to the food log.   This was a very simple stir-fry.  It started with a bunch of sprouting purple broccoli, bok choy, and some mint.  I had picked those up at the market the Sunday before but hadn’t gotten to making it yet.  I ended up making it with a friend at her so this is the first food log from a guest location!

I sauteed some garlic and fresh mint in olive oil and once it was going good I threw in some bits of actual broccoli base that was chopped up and the more dense bok choy stems in.  I sauteed them until they were tender and then I threw in the sprouted purple broccoli that I had cut into 3 sections so it would fit into our mouths.  I let that cook for a few minutes and then threw in the leafy parts of the bok choy and poured in a generous amount of tamari sauce over the whole thing and let it cook for 10 minutes tops.  The emmer farro I had cooked in a rice cooker the night before. That’s it!

Results? Really good. Myself, friend, and sous chef all really liked it. The sprouting purple broccoli really did taste a lot like smaller, tenderer broccoli and was really good. And added color!
